After the hero defeated the demon king, the world became peaceful–but it hadn’t ended. After humanity’s ‘enemy’ disappeared, from the era of ‘violence’ came the era of ‘money’. At the nook of trade city Faltram, the wandering hero who had hidden his identity came across the demi-human Yunis, and the female knight, Rachel with whom she was discussing with. Without much of a choice, the hero decided to help them out and indifferently declared “If they don’t have principles, sword nor power, wouldn’t it be alright if we deceived the villains that deceived”
For the hero who defeated the demon lord, his new enemy are those humans obsessed with money! And furthermore, he challenges the swindlers who overrun the town..!?

Black hair because this is Japanese made and they project shit on their main character , and black cloths because black is just a good color. I don’t know what you watch, read but I hardly see ENOUGH black cloths.

Do you know the number of characters with short black hair and black coat that exist before SAO?
Black hair is the natural hair color of Japanese people. Don’t you think THAT would make it normal for anime characters to have black hair? Heck, half of the shonen main characters I know have black hair. That hairstyle is also very, very common. There are only so many male hairstyles in real life. For the author/artist who wants to have an ordinary main character… news for you: they pick the typical short black hair male protagonist.
As for the coat… Have you seen the number of long black coat in fantasy themed stories?
The girl’s sword is ALSO A FANTASY THEMED SWORD DESIGN that is SO COMMON in fantasy RPG even before SAO was even born.
I bet you are the person who says “omg this person looks liek miku!!1!” to every female character with blue-ish hair.
Following your logic, SAO is probably a rip-off of hundreds to thousands of other video games and anime series.

Well, it’s hard not to make the association with the characters designs. MC looks like a cross between Kirito and The One True Tatsuya.
The story sounds pretty cool though. Like Log Horizon + Spice and Wolf with more a magical fantasy setting than Spice and Wolf. I’m looking forward to it. Though, I hope we get to see more Bu ni Mi too :D

I’m not saying this is an SAO rip off, but there’s no need to go off on the guy. He honestly has a valid point. When I saw the cover, I thought the art was a parody type thing of SAO. You can’t say that the MC doesn’t look like a taller Kirito and the female knight has no resemblance to Asuna. They look alike, no doubt about it.

I can’t discern anything about the story so far so we’ll have to wait for the first chapter for that, but I do hope that it’ll be good! Perhaps something along the lines of Spice and Wolf’s economy part can be expected?
And what did you do to encroach on Tensaiz’s lead in view count so fast and without a barrage of chapter releases? It was a difference of around 30k a few days ago and now it’s only 7k. Good luck on that front!

Title definitely hooked me, synopsis sounds more like an intro. Wondering if the art work of the cover will be present throughout the novel. Asides for Rachel, MC outfit resembles SAO too much, not as much as his face or hair. (Still wouldn’t look like Kirito if they changed the outfit.)

I’d like the illustrations to be better because it is no reason for the mc to be dressed in a kirito -style. He’s not slaying anything so put on some rich boy clothes and lay in the coins, looking extra seductive like they do in bishounen manga.Maybe even rubbing cash along his cheek in a come hither fashion…and those girls can be barely visible dolls in the coin piles ;D

Although the illustrations are quite good, the LN just focuses on basically money and corruption (?) and not just your typical hero killing demon lord any more. Likewise if the novel illustrations are out, I think it might be interesting. It’s a bit similar from the manga “Akame ga Kill!” in terms of money and corruption but not gory (at least I think it is from the synopsis) but that’s just me thinking like that. OwO

It may be just me but i don’t see the resemblance at al. Asuna wore mostly white with red has orange hair not blond and kirito looked weaker, darker,and the clothes seemed mutch well just more plain i guess. And armor? Not al knight wear armor and certainly not al the time. And there have been a few knight who whore full plate armor once somewhere… Um … Erza. No she had a skirt too um omay i don’t remeber any. But i’m almost 50% sure there has been one.
